    Job Details
  • Observation Unit - The Observation Unit provides care to patients who require evaluation and treatment for a period of time between 8 and 48 hours. Some conditions that may require observation include chest pain, asthma, abdominal pain, kidney stones, and minor infections. IV antibiotics, fluids, Insulin drips, Nitro for Blood Pressure, TP and Lipids.
  • Ratios are 1:5 days/1:6 nights. Depending on staffing, night ratios can be 1:7 (this is rare, but facility wants travelers to be aware).
  • Medical Surgical/Telemetry RN
  • 2 years of prior Telemetry experience pref (must have 2 years exp in large, urban hospital)
  • Drips are required on all floors
  • First timers NOT accepted (will consider if the traveler has 2 years of experience at a Level l Academic Medical Center)
  • Will float within scope to meet facility needs (this includes potentially floating to Bellevue campus)
  • 100% NICOTINE FREE FACILITY
    Job Requirements
  • BLS required
  • ACLS preferred
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • Pending license accepted: Yes, but if license is not IN HAND at the time of submission then traveler will be booked six weeks out.
  • RTO restrictions: Up to two weeks of RTO permitted. RTO must be submitted with application. Additional requests after confirmation at manager discretion.
  • Weekend Requirement: Two weekends in a four-week schedule period (Saturday/Sunday for day shift, Friday/Saturday for night shift).
    Unit Specific Information
  • Scrubs: MANDATORY - RNs wear Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo printed on the back. Information on how to obtain Nebraska Medicine branded scrubs will be shared once traveler is confirmed. Facility also sells gray T-shirts that can be worn in their company store.
  • Parking: Professionals can obtain a parking permit (cost depends on the lot, but is approx. $55/month) or they can use daily rate parking ($3 to park for 20 hrs).
