QC Lab Technician – Food Manufacturing
2nd Shift
We are currently recruiting for a QC Lab Technician with food company located NW of Tyler, TX area.
Overall, the QC Lab Technician with have a strong background in quality control, food safety, and laboratory techniques. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, adhere to safety standards, and provide support to the team.
\tResponsible for conducting inspections of equipment, materials, and processes. Conduct routine HACCP (FSP) inspections.
\tConduct plant inspections of both product and processes, as prescribed by Quality Manager.
\tResponsible for analytical testing of in-process and finished product testing according to prescribed procedures and logging of data in safe manner observing all EHS and laboratory safety guidelines detailed in the Chemical Hygiene plan, as well as all applicable good laboratory practices.
\tPerform calibration of laboratory and foreign material detection equipment, where applicable.
\tComplete analytical test method validation studies.
\tPerforms and maintains legible records of preventative maintenance for all laboratory equipment on prescribed basis.
\tMaintain QC document storage and backup system.
\tProvide back-up support for other Quality technicians on an as needed basis (including vacation/absence coverage).
Key Responsibilities:

\tQuality Inspections: Conduct inspections of equipment, materials, and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
\tLaboratory Operations: Perform calibration of laboratory equipment, complete analytical test method validation studies, and conduct analytical testing of in-process and finished products.
\tHACCP Inspections: Perform routine HACCP (FSP) inspections to identify and control potential food safety hazards.
\tPlant Inspections: Conduct plant inspections of both product and processes to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
\tIncoming Materials: Test incoming materials and ingredients according to testing schedules.
\tSafety and Compliance: Adhere to EHS and laboratory safety guidelines, maintain records of preventative maintenance for laboratory equipment, and maintain QC document storage.
\tSupport: Provide back-up support for other Quality technicians and work flexible hours, including weekend operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

\tHigh School Diploma or equivalent
\tAssociate or Bachelor's degree preferred
\tExperience with HACCP and food safety regulations is a plus
\tProficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment.
\tpH testing, moisture, particle size analysis, iodine content, microbiological testing, chemical analysis
\tAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
\tStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.
\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and Benefits:

\tSalary range of $50-55k, with potential for higher compensation for qualified candidates.
\tWork Schedule: Day shift for training and 2nd shift (3pm-11pm)
\tOccasional overtime
\tFlexible hours and after-hours support may be required.
