Assistant Groundskeeper Trenton Thunder Trenton, New JerseyThe Trenton Thunder are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Grounds Crew for the 2025 MLB Draft League season. This position, Assistant Groundskeeper, is seasonal, running from April/May to September. This position would report to the Head Groundskeeper and would work on the crew on game days and non-gameday events. This position is ideal for someone with one to two years of turf management experience or someone looking to enter the turf management industryJob DutiesWorking knowledge of the maintenance of sports fields. Seeding, sodding and maintenance practices for sports field turf grass. Extra events (college and high school games, company outings, etc.)Maintain mounds and home plate areaAssist in mowing, fertilizing, edging infield/outfield, aerating, soddingHigh level of understanding of the sports requirements for field layouts and markingsQUALIFICATIONS:•Candidate must be a professional, self-starter who will work as a team player, and also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.•The preferred candidate will have a two or four year degree in Agronomy or Sports Turf Management, or the equivalence in experience and education.•Should be able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.•Ability to talk to others and convey information effectively.•Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.•Ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds.•Able to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. .
