Job Description Senior Operations Research Analyst - Full-time Permanent Position - Secret or higher BizFirst is assisting our client with recruiting a full-time Senior Operations Research Analyst to work at Scott AFB/southern IL. Our client is a boutique consulting firm that employs consultants and professionals with unique skill sets to support the federal government with strategic execution, financial process enablement, IT systems, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation.
What will you do? As a Senior Operations Research Analyst, you will leverage your extensive experience and expertise to manage and execute high-visibility, mission-critical projects. You will perform all functional duties independently, often overseeing the efforts of junior staff or managing the contributions of an entire project team. Your role will focus on enhancing systems and processes, developing innovative solutions, and driving long-term business outcomes.
Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive analyses of government financial systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced financial models, simulations, and analytical tools to support decision-making.
- Design and evaluate metrics for financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial systems with other IT systems and ensure alignment with overall business goals.
- Provide expert advice on financial reporting standards, audit procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Oversee the creation and revision of project documentation, including technical reports, financial analysis, and strategic recommendations.
- Mentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring the quality and accuracy of their work and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Interface with government stakeholders to present findings, propose solutions, and secure buy-in for implementation plans.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and advancements in financial technologies to continuously improve service offerings.
Requirements: - Interim Secret or Higher
- Over 10 years of experience in operations research or a related field.
- BA/BS or MA/MS degree in a relevant discipline.
- Deep understanding of financial reporting standards, audit processes, and internal controls.
- Experience supporting the Federal Government or Department of Defense (DoD).
- Demonstrated ability to perform all functional duties independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven track record of handling complex, high-visibility projects.
- Experience overseeing junior staff and managing project teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity for creative problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
