A bit about us: We are an established and growing construction group located in the Central Valley (Madera, CA). The Payroll Specialist will be joining a strong accounting department with solid leadership. This is an organized company, the position will entail HEAVY data entry.
This is a Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with overtime opportunity.

Are you looking for a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding position? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Permanent Payroll Specialist to join our team in the Construction industry. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a team that values hard work, dedication, and innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing for our multi-state operations. This includes ensuring accuracy, auditing, and compliance with all state and federal regulations. This role requires a high level of proficiency in numeric data entry, 10-key, garnishments, and SAGE software.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately processing payroll for all employees across multiple states, ensuring all payments are made on time and in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Handling all aspects of garnishments, including processing, tracking, and reporting.
- Conducting regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Using SAGE software to manage payroll data and generate reports.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies promptly and providing excellent customer service to employees with payroll queries.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of state and federal payroll laws and regulations.
- Collaborating with the HR team to ensure accurate and timely processing of new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Preparing and submitting payroll tax reports to appropriate government agencies.
- Maintaining accurate and complete payroll records, including timesheets, payroll transactions, and deductions.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in a payroll position, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficient in multi-state payroll processing.
- Strong numeric data entry and 10-key skills.
- Experience with garnishments processing and reporting.
- Proven auditing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Proficient in using SAGE software for payroll management.
- Excellent knowledge of state and federal payroll laws and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies promptly and effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
- High level of integrity and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
