We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. This role involves performing structural design and analysis calculations, preparing engineering documents, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality project execution. Job Details

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform structural design and analysis based on customer specifications, industry codes, and engineering best practices.
  • Develop and detail civil/structural components of projects, following schematic layouts or creating conceptual designs as needed.
  • Generate engineering drawings and sketches, collaborating with Designers and Drafters to bring designs to completion.
  • Research and evaluate design options, documenting findings for the project lead engineer.
  • Review shop fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates to support the sales team in project planning and bidding.
  • Supervise and guide Designers/Drafters in project execution.
  • Coordinate with architectural, mechanical, and electrical teams to integrate structural components effectively.
  • Recommend process improvements and updates to engineering standards as necessary.
  • Utilize engineering and design software to develop technical documentation.
  • Attend client meetings and serve as a key technical representative.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including subcontractors and construction partners, to address structural concerns.
  • Conduct field activities, including site visits and field measurements, to support project execution.
  • Organize and draft engineering reports, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Take on a lead engineering role for assigned projects, potentially serving as the primary client contact for smaller, less complex projects.
  • Support the sales team in securing future business opportunities.
  • Perform additional related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in structural engineering and design.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and general computer operations.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards, including ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, and IBC.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the power industry or industrial markets.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as STAAD Pro, ANSYS, and Mathcad.
  • Expertise in foundation design (shallow, mat, and deep foundations).
  • Knowledge of structural steel design in compliance with AISC, AWS, CBC, and Canadian Steel Codes.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.
