Job Details Your Responsibilities: As a Manufacturing Engineer at LeClaire Manufacturing, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, implementing, and supporting production through key Manufacturing Engineering functions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support and technical troubleshooting for current operations.
- Developing written methods of manufacture and driving out process variability with error-proofing methods.
- Investigating, gathering, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and driving action based on root-cause analysis and -Toyota Production System (TPS) techniques.
- Coordinating shop floor actions to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Monitoring shop floor data in real-time and taking action based on results.
- Establishing routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, methods documentation, and labor standards for revisions to current operations and new parts.
- Implementing advanced manufacturing processes utilizing IoT devices, databases, and advanced manufacturing software.
- Performing manufacturing simulations for scheduling, design of parts, or layout.
- Identifying and implementing cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvement ideas.
- Working with electronic and software tools to create process improvements or gather data.
- Designing operations layouts to improve efficiency and safety.
- Collaborating with the production team to identify and implement safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
- Implementing new manufacturing processes and technology.
- Performing basic troubleshooting of robots and technical troubleshooting of production machines.
Required Background and Skills:
- Working knowledge of manufacturing management tools, various manufacturing data systems, and process management systems.
- Background in Engineering (industrial, mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, power systems, etc.).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including safety, quality, delivery, efficiency, 5S, lean manufacturing, and process control.
- Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, mechanical, controls, electrical, methods, design, manufacturing, or quality.
- Experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance, and visual management tools.
Bonus Experience:
- Technical knowledge with PLCs or controls engineering.
- Programming knowledge for robots, PLCs, or Java.
- Demonstrated critical thinking ability and determination to solve root-cause issues.
Education (or equivalent work experience):
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline.
