Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking to hire a full-time

- Paraprofessional Responsibilities:
- The paraeducator is part of a classroom team, comprised of a special educator and at least one other support staff member. The paraeducator works with all students in the class and stays with the class all day.
- Support daily routines of the classroom
- Prepare instructional space, student schedules, prepare materials
- Carry out small group learning (IEP targeted, repeated instruction, pre-teaching, etc)
- Accompany students to cultural arts classes and facilitate participation
- Assist students as needed with toileting and personal care*
- Assist with feeding as needed
- Monitor and engage with students during recess and playtime
- Collect data related to IEP goals and objectives
- Carry out IEP accommodations and modifications
- Support use of augmentative communication devices and other communication tools
- Carry out strategies from BIP (Behavior Intervention Plan)
- May include token systems, schedules, breaks, etc
- May require the use of CPI or other preventative strategies *
- Modify instructional materials following guidance from teacher
- Assist students with mobility and positioning using physical therapy equipment *
