Description The Department of Speech-Language Pathology at Rockhurst University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position to begin August 2025. This position is not remote.

As an Assistant Professor of Speech-Language Pathology you will:
- Supports the educational mission of the SLP program.
- Prepare course/practicum/lab outlines and syllabi in collaboration with the Program Director and Chair, develop content and lesson plans, and select textbooks and other teaching aids necessary for the instruction of courses/practicums/labs.
- Conduct instruction for courses in the SLP curriculum at a higher education level utilizing diverse teaching strategies.
- Teach pertinent subject matter using lectures, demonstrations, class discussions, practicums, labs, simulations, and other appropriate modes of educational delivery in the face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid environment.
- Effectively collaborate with academic and interprofessional partners to facilitate student learning in various settings, including classroom, clinical, lab, and simulation.
- Conduct research in area(s) of expertise and mentor students in research and service activities.
- Submits student progress reports and attendance to the Program Director and Academic Advisor and discusses any student needs that may require directed attention or remediation plans.
- Adheres to all Saint Luke's College of Nursing and Health Sciences and Rockhurst policies and procedures as outlined in the faculty handbook, student handbook, and catalog.
- Contribute to the mission of the department, college, and university through service commiserate with rank and experience.
Position requirements:
- Research doctorate (EdD or PhD) in speech-language pathology
- At least three years of professional experience
- Prior experience in teaching and course development for hybrid and online courses
- Record of scholarly contributions to the SLP field
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a university setting
- Strong organizational and technological skills
- Alignment with the mission of Rockhurst University
- ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP)
- State licensure (or eligibility) in speech-language pathology
