Position Overview The Chemistry Department of The University of the South invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor to begin in August 2025.
Position Description The Chemistry Department at The University of the South offers majors in both chemistry and biochemistry while also providing support to many other majors. Additionally, we maintain an active research community supported by an extensive suite of modern instrumentation used by faculty and students. The department also deeply values undergraduate research and collaboration opportunities. As such, we will gladly welcome a new community member launching collaborative research endeavors with us or our students.
Attributes of a Successful Candidate We are seeking highly qualified candidates capable of teaching general chemistry as well as specialized upper-level courses or broad-audience general education courses.
A successful candidate will ideally have a doctorate in Chemistry by the date of appointment; however, applicants currently completing their degree will also be considered.
