Position Summary
Concordia University Wisconsin seeks qualified applicants to teach in our online asynchronous Master of Social Work program. This position offers an opportunity to teach graduate students in a fully online and asynchronous learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in social work practice, pedagogy, and a passion for fostering student engagement and success in an online setting. We seek a mission-oriented individual who is committed to excellence in teaching.
The successful candidate will have a strong Christian commitment demonstrated by an ability to integrate a biblical worldview integrated across the curriculum. The Department of Social Work is a dynamic and growing department. The MSW program specialization is Advanced Generalist
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Course Instruction : Deliver engaging and interactive content for MSW students through asynchronous online platforms. Maintain course materials, such as readings, assignments, and multimedia resources.
  • Student Engagement and Support : Provide timely and substantive feedback on assignments, engage in online discussions, and offer academic support to students through virtual office hours, email exchanges, or other online channels.
  • Grading and Assessment : Grade student assignments, using rubrics, in a timely manner and provide substantive feedback.
  • Technology Integration : Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to administer courses, track student progress, and communicate with students. Stay up-to-date on best practices for online teaching.
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of online pedagogy and technology.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in an online environment.
  • Familiarity with online course platforms such as Blackboard and Canvas is desirable.

Education & Experience
  • An MSW from a CSWE accredited program with a minimum of two years post degree experience is required. The preferred candidate will also have an earned doctorate in Social Work, or a closely related field
  • A Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited institution. A Ph.D. or DSW is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional social work experience, post MSW, including clinical, community-based, or policy-related practice. Teaching experience, particularly in online or asynchronous formats, is highly desirable.
