Overview: Wheaton College (IL) is seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Professor to join the faculty in a tenure track position in the Biological and Health Sciences Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in human anatomy and cadaver dissection, general biology, and health sciences. This individual will contribute to the intellectual and spiritual growth of our students, blending academic excellence with a commitment to Christian values.
Start Date: Full-Time - Fall 2025

Pay range: Assistant Professor - $62,000 - 67,000; Associate Professor - $70,000 - 74,000

Responsibilities: - Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive courses in human anatomy and general biology at the undergraduate level.
- Teach human anatomy laboratories using human cadaver dissection
- Manage and oversee human cadaver lab in the anatomy facility.
- Manage and train dissection teaching assistants.
- Teach introductory courses as well as upper-division courses that align with their areas of expertise.
- Develop a research program that includes undergraduate students.
- Utilize diverse teaching methods, including lectures, laboratory sessions, discussions, and innovative educational technologies, to promote active learning and critical thinking.
- Mentor and advise students, fostering their academic, spiritual and personal development.
- Contribute to curriculum development, including the creation of new courses and updates to existing ones, aligned with the institution's mission and values.
- Actively engage in institutional service, such as departmental responsibilities, committee work, and community outreach, supporting the institution's Christian and academic missions.
Qualifications: - A Ph.D. in Biology, Anatomy, Health Science or a related field, or an MD with teaching and research experience.
- Experience with human cadaver dissection
- Demonstrated commitment to Christian values and the ability to integrate faith and learning in the field of biological sciences.
- Prior teaching experience at the university level is preferred, with a strong record of effective and innovative pedagogy.
- A record of scholarly research with a demonstrated potential for scholarly contributions involving undergraduates in your specialized research field
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
