Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) DAS Proctor positions for the Disability Access Services at Oregon State University (OSU).
Testing Proctors at Disability Access Services (DAS) administers exams to students in a professional manner. A proctor is in charge of the testing environment to ensure academic integrity and to follow the exam instructions as written by the course instructor.
Through this position, students will develop core competencies that will better prepare them for the careers after graduation. These skills include, but are not limited to communication, problem solving, teamwork/collaboration, professionalism, and diversity and global consciousness.
Position Duties
  • Follow DAS Testing Center policies and procedures.
  • Greet students/staff in person and via phone.
  • Administer exams per instructor-specific instructions.
  • Verify the identity of each student by checking photo ID prior to each exam.
  • Set up assistive technology as needed.
  • Work one-on-one with students as a scribe or reader.
  • Monitor the testing environment.
  • Perform cleaning of testing spaces, computer monitors, keyboards, headsets, etc.
  • Navigate campus to pick up/drop off exam materials as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
  • Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
  • Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
    • High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
    • Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
    • Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
    • Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
    • Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Academic year - fall, winter and spring terms. Summer employment is negotiable and dependent on the business needs of the DAS Testing Center. Continued employment contingent on satisfactory performance. Must maintain a 2.5 GPA and have no prior or current academic violations.
Testing Proctors are expected to work an average of 5-10 hours a week and are eligible for no more than 20 work hours per week during a regular academic term. Work hours may range from 7:30am to 10:30pm Monday - Thursday and from 7:30am to 5:00pm on Friday. Proctors are expected to work during Finals week. Proctor shifts may be between 7:00am to 11pm during Finals Week.
