JOB SUMMARY Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Security personnel will always perform job duties with a constant awareness of surroundings, making note of all activity that takes place in the assigned area. Security officers must maintain a professional image and always demonstrate excellent customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES All responsibilities are to be carried out in an honest, ethical, and professional manner and in accordance with client and/or Andy Frain policies and procedures.
- Operate computer-based yard management system to record number of trucks, Bill of Lading, trailer numbers, tractor numbers and other information.
- Guard the entrance to the facility and grounds, warehouse, or other property to control traffic to and from buildings and grounds.
- Inspect inbound and outbound trailers and seals to prevent unauthorized removal of product or property.
- Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
- Operate electronic vehicle gates to allow entrance or exit of employees, trucks, and authorized visitors.
- Verify employee credentials or approved roster before admitting anyone entry to the property.
- Directs visitors and truck drivers to various parts of grounds or buildings.
- Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as theft, equipment or property damage, presence of unauthorized persons or unusual occurrences, incident reports on truck discrepancy.
- Answer telephone calls from client and maintain logbooks.
- May be required to operate a company security vehicle to perform property vehicle patrols.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.
- High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED)
- State of Illinois Guard License (PERC) is required.
- Must be willing to submit to a background investigation; any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of background investigation.
- Minimum 3-6 months prior experience in loss prevention, life safety, CCTV systems, or computer access.
SKILLS/ABILITIES - A security officer must be honest, alert, and well-disciplined as the custodians of employee and customer property and safety.
- Constant and dedicated vigilance.
- Strong customer service skills, exemplifying Andy Frain Services Mission Statement.
- Ability to be hands-on, results oriented employee, handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to facilitate progressive change, work as part of a team and follow directions.
