Freestanding Emergency Room Nurse at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center summary:

As a Freestanding Emergency Room Nurse at TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center, I provide direct patient care and engage in therapeutic communication to ensure a safe and effective environment. I participate in performance improvement activities and coordinate patient care with an interdisciplinary approach to meet the individual needs of patients. My role includes monitoring patient conditions, ordering diagnostic tests, and leading staff in the delivery of quality care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

 Job Summary and Qualifications 

Emergency Room Nurse? 

The?Freestanding?Registered?Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act.  

Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice.?Maintains a safe therapeutic environment.?Identifies?nursing problems as they relate to the individual needs of the patient. Registered Nurse plans individualized patient care while?utilizing?an interdisciplinary approach.?Participates in performance improvement activities.?Provides care and coordinates participation that fosters the goals of the hospital’s mission and vision statement.? 

When acting in the?charge?nurse?role, registered nurses?are responsible for?day-to-day activities to ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a therapeutic environment.?Make staff assignments based on patient needs,?acuity,?and the skill of the staff. Serve as role models and clinical resources for the staff.?Respond in a timely manner to requests for information or follow-up with physicians, staff, or patient issues.? 

What you will do in this role:? 

• You will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions while maintaining accurate and detailed records? 

• You will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess the patient's condition.? 

• You will demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.? 

• You will promote hospital customer service initiatives.? 

• You will utilize nursing process for individual care to meet the needs of patients.? 

• You will demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures.? 

What qualifications you will need:?? 

• Current RN licensure by TN Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state? 

• Current BLS? 

• ACLS and PALS within 1 year of employment? 

• CPI within 6 months of employment? 

• 1 Year of RN Experience? 

• ER experience highly preferred?
