The Medical Records Specialist is an essential part in our patient’s care by tracking, organizing, and maintaining the electronic medical records (EMR) of patients. In this role, you work behind the scenes collecting physician orders, lab results, and other critical information then indexing them into the correct files within the EMR. This position is for our Tupelo branch.

How You Will Make a Difference

As we expand our services in new and existing markets, we're looking for a Medical Records Specialist who shares our values of being Trustworthy, Capable, Compassionate, Proactive, and most importantly, called to serve. The Medical Records Specialist is an essential part in our patient’s care by tracking, organizing, and maintaining the electronic medical records (EMR) of patients. In this role, you work behind the scenes collecting physician orders, lab results, and other critical information then indexing them into the correct files within the EMR.

As the Medical Records Specialist, you will:

  • Uploads documents into the EMR, such as physician orders, paper visits, and lab reports, as needed.
  • Complete workflow tasks and organize, sort, and maintain documentation in the patient electronic medical records in a timely manner.
  • Sends and collects orders from physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and/or Physician Assistants, and tracks orders consistently in the EMR.
  • Assist with communications such as answering incoming calls.

Skills for Success:

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic record keeping
  • Familiar and comfortable with technology. HCHB and Forcura experience is a plus
