Overview:

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer (SWE) at Skill Level 1 to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems, including processing-intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, and real-time systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. The Software Engineer will also review and test software components to ensure adherence to design requirements and resolve software problem reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Design and code new software or modify existing software to add features.
• Debug existing software and correct defects to improve functionality.
• Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments.
• Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories.
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development processes.
• Develop and implement algorithms to enhance system performance and meet functional standards.
• Assist in developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Write or review software and system documentation to ensure clarity and accuracy.
• Collaborate with users or system engineers to analyze system flow, data usage, and work processes.
• Lead a team at an appropriate level for the software development process being utilized.
• Modify existing software to correct errors or adapt to new hardware requirements.
• Design and implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries.
• Utilize scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict outcomes and measure the consequences of design.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in software development methodologies, debugging tools, and database management.

Compensation: $120,000 - $210,000
