Job Description

Contract to Hire

Required Skills:

  1. Stored procedures/Functions/ Trigger Development
  2. Query optimization, Execution plan Analysis
  3. MS SQL Server Job setup

Should Have:

  1. Database capacity planning

Responsibilities:

  1. Design database for OLTP and OLAP applications
  2. Define database standards for tables, columns, indexes
  3. Handle the daily responsibilities of supporting the build and release needs of Agile scrum teams
  4. Provide guidance to cross-team and team members in database best practices and procedures
  5. Support all pre-production, managed environments for middleware services and applications
  6. Deploy code and other proactive maintenance activities to keep the services up and running
  7. Own specific deployment problems and provide active coordination between various groups including internal and external groups in resolving a specific problem
  8. Work with Development, QA and other teams to understand changes to the existing production environment on an ongoing basis and for environment support
  9. Update documentation that communicates standards and best practices of the engineering team
  10. Implement metrics, Success Factors and Key Performance Indicators for the process and the team

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  1. BS in Computer Science or equivalent
  2. 3+ years of experience in Database Programming/Management
  3. Excellent analytical and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  4. Innovative thinking and vision
  5. Solid understanding of technology
  6. Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable
  7. Must have a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and initiative
  8. Experience with agile software development methodologies (scrum etc)
  9. Good written and oral communication skills
