This is an advanced technical position requiring a thorough understanding of every component of the network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, FIREWALL, IPS).

This position requires 7x24 support and event management of all mission-critical systems. Will be a technical resource managing and providing support recommendations for network technology and assisting with strategic and tactical network planning within the Systems Group.

Provides advanced systems diagnosis and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

1. Under direction of Manager of Infrastructure and Support
2. Assumes responsibility for Network management and monitoring.
3. Assumes responsibility for systems and their implementation in the Philips Lifeline Network.
4. Evaluates and provides recommendations for emerging network technology.
5. Aids in strategic and tactical planning within the Systems Group – Network team.
6. Provides advanced network/systems diagnosis and problem resolution.
7. Provides Network Systems management of infrastructure including:
1. Installing new devices
2. Resolving highly complex problems
3. Monitoring and alerting component faults
4. Ensuring network security at all layers of OSI model
8. Provides highly complex network systems management of infrastructure, including:
1. Configuring and maintaining F5 Load Balancers, Juniper and Cisco Firewalls, Cisco routers, switches & wireless
2. Monitoring and alerting network faults
3. Assisting with topology design and documentation
4. Providing periodic trend analysis reports on the health of the infrastructure
5. Resolving highly complex problems
6. Ensuring security using appropriate technology
7. Utilizing and optimizing existing network monitoring, analysis, troubleshooting and reporting tools, automating where applicable and adding value to the overall network user experience

Qualifications
