Job Description

The Information Assurance (IA) resource will work directly with the customer to manage IA activities and set policy within the FRTIB at the direction of FRTIB management and/or the HP Program Manager.

Typical Duties:

  1. Responsible for monitoring the quality of implementing information security policies, processes, and procedures for Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board (FRTIB).
  2. Assist with the strategic risk management of information systems and monitoring of the creation and application of security controls.
  3. Advise, draft, monitor, and maintain strategic security policies as well as their associated procedures.
  4. Establish, monitor, and maintain information security measures of performance.
  5. Assist with the development of a continuous monitoring information security program.
  6. Participate in research, design, development, monitoring, and reporting of continuing information security innovations within the Office of Technology Services.
  7. Ensure adherence to organizational configuration policy, guidelines, and the agency Information Security policies to support a secure environment for Board staff and business partners.

Required Skills and/or Product Knowledge:

  1. Ability to express oneself professionally with a command of the English language in both verbal and written communication.
  2. Ability to conduct briefings and present materials to large audiences and/or senior and executive management.
  3. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, information assurance or management information systems is preferred; relevant documented experience will be considered.
  4. CISSP or CISM certification is required.
  5. PMP certification is required.
  6. Expertise administering a SharePoint site as an informational portal and collaboration tool is preferred.
  7. Knowledge in creating process workflows; knowledge of business process management (BPM) software is desired.
  8. Knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools that support continuous monitoring such as nCircles.
  9. Expert knowledge of the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and relevant Information Security federal/special publications as published by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
  10. Familiarity with networking concepts and principles is preferred.
  11. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  12. Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.

The following skills and experience are preferred:

  1. Experience in an ITIL environment.

Travel requirements: Travel requirements to client locations are estimated at less than 10%.
