10765 - Sr. Engineering Systems Administrator - Virtualization

PURPOSE:
Responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and administration of VMware, Windows, and Linux Servers. Ensures IT infrastructure environments meet availability requirements and contracted service levels. In addition, responsible for managing vendor technical performance, prioritizing customer business requests, and managing project schedules and budgets.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop and maintain VMware Hypervisor architecture strategy
2. Install and configure VMware environment including vSphere components.
3. Maintain VMware servers, networking, Datacenter operations.
4. Ensuring that VMware Hypervisor is installed and configured according to specifications
5. Develop and maintain SOPs, diagrams and other related documentation
6. Support project planning, architecture and implementation as required
7. Monitor vendor service performance via KPIs, SLAs, SLOs in accordance with contract
8. Develop and maintain patch management plan in accordance with best practices
9. Oversee Capacity Management, including compute, memory and storage
10. Overseeing vendors’ successful monitoring, maintenance, and security compliance
11. Ensure patch monitoring and deployments are performed in accordance with SOPs
12. Overseeing infrastructure hardware and software acquisition, installation, and changes
13. Ensuring high availability of infrastructure via service level management
14. Actively participate in Incident Mgmt and Problem Mgmt (e.g. RCA) processes
15. Maintain Change Mgmt compliance
16. Develop, maintain and support Disaster Recovery planning and execution
17. Track assets, including lease and warranty information and service agreements

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree in IT/IS desired or equivalent 10+ years of experience in IT Systems Engineering required.
2. 8-10 years relevant work experience in respective technologies
3. VMware Certification is preferred
4. MCP, MCSE certification is preferred
5. AWS, Azure or GCP experience is a plus
6. Experience in design, implementation, strategy and virtualization at an enterprise level
7. ITIL v3 or higher is a plus
8. Ability to manage, provision, and plan for future growth
9. Experience with managing large-scale environments
10. Experience with enterprise logical storage provisioning and SAN is a plus
11. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
13. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
14. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks / Projects in a fast-paced environment.
15. Highly motivated with a desire to improve skills, processes and procedures.

Salary Range - $98,060 - $151,008
