Temperature Control Systems (a division of Kele Companies), a multi-branch, nationwide distributor of commercial/industrial HVAC controls, burner/boiler controls, and building automation systems, is in search of a BAS Technical Support Specialist who will be responsible for providing product application assistance and technical support for commercial building automation products including Tridium, Honeywell, Johnson Controls FX, Distech, KMC, and Prolon products. Customer support can include project material takeoffs, product application assistance, hardware and software configuration, programming, technical expertise, and training for commercial automation hardware and software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides product application and selection support.
- Creates quotes and estimates for products and solutions.
- Supports technical sales and end-user presentations.
- Serves as a primary resource for product questions and information for internal and external customers.
- Programs equipment controllers and provides start-up assistance for new customers.
- Troubleshoots and reconfigures defective configurations, providing phone and field technical support, and suggesting system improvements, modifications, etc. to support contractors' project needs.
- Conducts new product testing and vetting.
- Investigates problems, develops solutions, and makes recommendations.
- Creates custom program modules in Tridium Niagara N4.
- Attends, develops, constructs, and records training sessions and maintains technical proficiency on all issues that are applicable to our customers and industry.
- Conducts take-offs from architectural and/or mechanical prints/specifications.
- Occasionally visits customer job sites, conducting walk-throughs in order to view existing components and recommend functional replacements.
Preferred Requirements:
- Undergraduate/bachelor's degree and applicable certification(s) or an Associates Degree in a related technical field with 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
- Industry experience in multi-vendor DDC control products and communication protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of IT network principles for DDC systems.
- Niagara N4 certification or the ability to attain certification within 6 months of employment.
- Honeywell WEBS, Johnson Controls FX, and/or Distech certification preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; ability to learn and use company software.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record for limited travel as needed.
