Job Description

SUMMARY: The Data Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data pipelines and architectures. This position requires a forward-thinking approach to solve complex data challenges and support our advanced AI and machine learning initiatives. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, and optimizing data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to support business initiatives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and IT departments, to develop and implement data-driven solutions that provide business value.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using AWS services such as Lambda, Glue, Redshift, and Athena.
2. Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to support AI and machine learning projects using AWS SageMaker and Bedrock.
3. Implement and maintain data visualization solutions using Tableau and Amazon QuickSight.
4. Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses, and data lakes to support business initiatives.
5. Develop and consume APIs for efficient data integration and pipeline development.
6. Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
7. Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
8. Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are met throughout all data processes.
9. Work in a team environment, using Agile and Scrum methodologies.
10. Mentor team members and promote best practices in data engineering.
11. Communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing.
12. Anticipate future needs and develop solutions that are robust and future-proof.
13. Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
14. Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.).
15. Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training.
16. Identifies and reports suspicious activity.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE

1. 4+ years of work experience in data management disciplines, including data integration, modeling, optimization, and data quality.
2. Experience with popular database programming languages, including SQL and PL/SQL for relational databases.
3. Strong experience with advanced analytics tools for object-oriented/object function scripting using languages such as Python.
4. Experience with AWS data services (eg, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, Athena).
5. Experience with API development and integration.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts and tools.
2. Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau or QuickSight.
3. Strong understanding of data governance, security, and quality standards.
4. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
