We are currently hiring a Development Director in the Fairfield CT / Westchester NY market. This is a full-time, home-office based position. The Director will generate revenue for our Go Red For Women fundraising campaign, which includes our signature GRFW Luncheon and Auction event. This is an external facing role with expectations to be in community meetings with volunteers, donors, and sponsors approximately 70% of the week.

We have a fast-paced sales environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay, based on achieving certain revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  1. Achieve revenue goals and ensure volunteer leadership is recruited and developed.
  2. Solicit large dollar and multi-year corporate sponsorships, individual donor cultivation, peer-to-peer fundraising, and volunteer committee recruitment for the Go Red for Women campaign .
  3. Be accountable for an overall ambitious market fundraising goal and carry out high-quality campaigns in collaboration with the team.
  4. Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations.
  5. Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research that aligns with the campaign goals and the Association's mission.
  6. Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
  7. Recruit and be responsible for executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
  8. Coordinate the event auction, including leading a committee of volunteers to solicit auction items and prepare packages that will raise funds.
  9. Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other fundraising staff.
  10. Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  11. Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.

Qualifications

Experience required:

  1. 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent experience.
  2. Ability to do daily local travel up to 75% (2 counties); requires access to reliable transportation at all times.
  3. Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes).
  4. Basic knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred experience and skills:

  1. University/College degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level.
  3. Knowledge of corporate and community networks.
