Job Title: Director, Engineering
Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $120,000 to $150,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
As we continue to expand and diversify our portfolio with the development of the OCVIBE project, it becomes increasingly important to have subject matter experts to help lead this exciting effort. The Director, Engineering will lead a team of engineers and manage vendors as needed in day-to-day operations, putting the safety of our staff, guests, and stakeholders first. This front-line leader will be responsible and accountable for leading and managing a team of facilities staff at Honda Center, ARTIC, ACC, DCC, Rinks, and future developments, such as OCVIBE. This position requires a team player with outstanding leadership skills focused on action and results.
Responsibilities
- Primary duties include corrective maintenance of kitchen equipment, central utility plants and associated distribution systems, HVAC equipment, lighting systems, and responding to all maintenance requests from associated properties.
- Prioritize and direct work to multiple employees and ensure that it is completed.
- Monitor and support field operations, coordinate job assignments, evaluate work practices and conduct safety reviews and meetings.
- Report the status of job completion, training requirement completion, and end of shift turn-over reports to the leadership team as needed.
- Partner with clients to understand and meet their requirements.
- Respond to requests for support promptly.
- Provide technical guidance in kitchens, utilities, mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
- Build, develop and cultivate a world-class engineering staff.
- Implement and schedule all property and equipment preventative maintenance programs in compliance with standards and local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- Protect the company’s assets and maintain the venues in first-class condition.
Skills
- Minimum 5 years management experience in a maintenance environment and a minimum 3 years within an arena, stadium, or hotel maintenance environment.
- Understanding and knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience in facilities and/or kitchen maintenance.
- Experience in project process, development, and implementation.
- Experience in financial management.
- Understands how to manage performance and hold team members accountable.
- Excellent coaching, partnering, and mentoring skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled and effective communicator within all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
