Your role and responsibilities
IBM DataPower Gateway is a single multichannel gateway that helps provide security, control, integration, and optimized access. These capabilities apply to a full range of mobile, web, application programming interface (API), service-oriented architecture (SOA), B2B, and cloud workloads. DataPower Gateway provides a converged policy enforcement point to secure your workloads with consistent security policies across channels, which reduce operating costs and improve security. DataPower Gateway is available in physical, virtual, Linux, and container form factors.
As part of the DataPower gateway software engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring that every version of the product that is released exceeds the high level of quality that our customers demand.
You will work closely with the development team to define, execute, and track test plans for new features through the software life cycle, keeping in mind the end-to-end user experience. You will make use of strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills to identify, reproduce, and report product defects.

Required technical and professional expertise
- 8+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience including authoring test cases, executing manual test cases, reporting on test results, and developing test automation.
- Expertise with API testing and API automation.
- Experience deploying and configuring test environments.
- Strong software debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to collaborate meaningfully and respectfully in a team environment under high pressure.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Self-Starter, quick learner of technology, who is also excited in teaching and transferring knowledge, able to multi-task.
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Familiarity with testing and debugging APIs, including REST and SOAP.
- Experience testing network protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, MQ, Kafka, etc.
- Working knowledge of VMWare ESXi and virtualization.
- Experience with container applications and container orchestration, e.g., Kubernetes.
- Experience debugging and maintaining hardware systems, including network appliances and application servers.
- Experience with DataPower, API Connect, or other enterprise gateway solutions.
