We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist who can apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
This role is on the Supply Chain Technology team, where we’re creating digital infrastructure for the entire Operations organization. Our primary focus is on building scalable solutions that automate our business processes. You will bring your perspective to aerospace applications for Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin’s facilities. The ideal candidate will be hands-on and ready to dive in.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, implement, and optimize sophisticated machine learning (ML) models, including the collection and preparation of data
- Create algorithms that generate content based on learned data patterns
- Collaborate with Software Engineers to implement and deploy ML models in production environments
- Conduct model testing, validation, and optimization, and improve the efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of software systems
- Lead AI/ML projects and initiatives
- Work with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Implement containerization and orchestration technologies via services like git, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, who are located across all of Blue Origin’s main sites
- Maintain comprehensive documentation or models, tools, processes, and experiments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
- 7+ years of relevant experience designing ML models and deploying them to a production environment
- Strong proficiency in languages used in ML development, such as Python or R
- Proven experience with large language models (LLMs), deep learning, and generative AI models
- Experience with real-time analytics and real-time data processing pipelines, as well as proven success in optimizing and scaling ML models and infrastructure to handle high traffic and large datasets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and cross-team collaboration, with the ability to work with and communicate complex systems to a diverse user base
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in deployment/version control services like git
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Compensation Range:
CA applicants: $159,654.00-$223,515.60; WA applicants: $159,654.00-$223,515.60
