Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist
Contract to hire: 6-months then converts permanent
Pay: $20-30/hour based on level of experience
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Support Specialist to help maintain our facility’s IT environment, ensuring business continuity and progression. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn the ins and outs of IT infrastructure and have proven experience with problem solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems and applications.
- Assist users with network connectivity issues.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates on desktop systems.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex issues.
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Provide training and support to end-users on various software and hardware.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience as a PC Desktop Support Specialist or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Knowledge of network protocols and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Office 365 and other common business applications.
- Experience with hardware repair and maintenance.
