Job Description
Senior Application Systems Administrator
Supports the installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server, Microsoft IIS, Archer applications, and/or other application frameworks.
Participates in the design configuration, problem diagnosis, maintenance, and installation of application systems.
Validates system functionality after changes.
Participates in testing and installing new software releases and application system upgrades.
Analyzes, monitors, and fine-tunes the application system to achieve optimum performance levels.
Works with internal infrastructure teams and vendors to resolve issues with hardware and software.
Maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation to ensure data integrity.
Participates with application system problem resolution by working with application developers, vendors and internal infrastructure team members to troubleshoot.
Creates documentation of processes and procedures that are provided to auditors for proof of said processes and procedures.
Extreme attention to detail with an ability to judge a balance between attention to detail and timing of completion of tasks.
Additionally:
On Prem Windows application administration
Experience managing Web Servers / IIS
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python or similar)
Performance monitoring
Capacity analysis and forecasting
Working knowledge of ServiceNow
Ability to think through easy to complex tasks in a manner that creates pragmatic solutions to everyday problems
Occasional evening or weekend work required to support production deployments or fixes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Six or more years of experience in application development
Preferred Skills/Experience
Extensive knowledge of IT environment
Working knowledge of IT service, change and problem management
Extensive knowledge of IT systems management
Extensive knowledge of system software infrastructure, distribution and installation/support
Working knowledge of application delivery including release management
Working knowledge of computer operations
Working knowledge of hardware infrastructure
Strong problem-solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, customers and management
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Location: Minneapolis, MN
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
