SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated Cloud Security Engineer with a strong passion for securing cloud environments to join our expanding security team. This opportunity is perfect for an individual with a minimum of 2 years of experience in information security, particularly with a focus on cloud technologies. In this role, you'll play a key part in implementing robust security measures and best practices across our cloud platforms, primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS), to safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our data and applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Security Implementation:
    • Assist in the implementation of security controls and measures across cloud environments, focusing on AWS services.
  • Monitoring and Compliance:
    • Monitor cloud infrastructure for security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues.
    • Utilize tools such as AWS CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and GuardDuty.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities in cloud architecture.
  • Support the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM):
    • Help manage IAM policies and user access controls, ensuring the least privilege of access is enforced across cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with the incident response team to investigate and respond to security incidents within cloud environments.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain cloud security documentation, including security policies, procedures, and compliance reports.
  • Security Awareness and Training:
    • Provide training and support to team members and stakeholders on cloud security best practices and emerging threats.
    • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • 2 years of experience in information security, with a focus on AWS cloud security
  • Relevant AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) are highly desirable.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Cloud Security Knowledge: Basic understanding of cloud security principles, particularly in AWS. Familiarity with services like IAM, VPC, KMS, LZs, AMI and WAF is a plus.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of security tools and technologies, including vulnerability scanning, security monitoring, and incident detection.
  • Risk Management: Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and practices related to cloud security.
  • Identity and Access Management: Understanding of IAM concepts and best practices for securing cloud resources.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and address security issues effectively.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Regular use of a keyboard and mouse for typing and navigating software.
  • Viewing a computer screen for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to manipulate paperwork, including filing, sorting, and organizing.
  • Moving within the office environment to attend meetings, use office equipment, or interact with colleagues.
  • Occasional lifting of office supplies or paperwork (up to 20 pounds).
  • Speaking and listening to colleagues and clients in person, over the phone, or via video conferencing.
  • Working in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Performing repetitive tasks such as data entry or document preparation.
  • Working under artificial lighting conditions typical of an office environment, which may include fluorescent or LED lighting.
  • Role is onsite five days a week at the Louisville, KY CDI headquarters office.
