Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the company's tax strategy, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and review of all corporate tax returns, including income, franchise, sales, and use, property, and other applicable taxes.
- Provide expert advice on tax implications of business decisions, including mergers and acquisitions, financial planning, and business expansion.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all tax-related matters.
- Drive tax planning initiatives, identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.
- Develop and implement tax policies and procedures that align with the company's strategic objectives.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and regulations, ensuring the company's tax strategies are compliant and effective.
- Lead and mentor the tax team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Advanced degree in Taxation or CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive tax experience in the entertainment industry.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, particularly those related to the entertainment industry.
- Proven experience in managing tax processes, including tax planning, compliance, and audit defense.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop staff.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
- Proficiency in tax software and other relevant technology.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to ethical business practices.
