Job Overview:
A dynamic and fast-paced personal injury law firm located in Astoria is seeking a Trial Attorney with at least 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in handling trial cases and the ability to work independently while managing a caseload. This role provides the opportunity to work alongside highly respected trial attorneys, with a focus on litigation and trial preparation. The firm offers a collaborative environment where the attorney will have hands-on experience and the opportunity to further develop trial skills.

Location:

  • Astoria, NY

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases from inception through trial.
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
  • Represent clients in court, presenting compelling arguments and evidence.
  • Conduct depositions, write motions, appeals, and trial preparation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Handle daily court appearances and client interactions.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy and development.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in personal injury litigation.
  • Proven trial experience and strong trial advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience in negotiating settlements and managing client relationships.
  • Active license to practice law in New York (New Jersey license is a plus).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active member of the New York State Bar (New Jersey Bar is a plus).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw.
  • Excellent trial preparation and courtroom experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to handle settlements.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
