Overview

To provide cleaning services and maintenance assistance for Social Services. Responsible for maintaining the center premises and its equipment in a clean, safe, healthy, and comfortable condition inside and outside.

Responsibilities

1. Complete all cleaning assignments as given by the supervisor in a timely and orderly fashion, following instructions and using the correct materials.
2. Report any facility problems to the Supervisor immediately.
3. Complete any spreadsheets as asked to show work done.
4. Share information with the Corps Commanding Officer on all matters of mutual concern.
5. Use correct supplies and equipment for the right surfaces, becoming knowledgeable in this area.
6. Conduct all work and relationships at work in a professional manner, adhering to The Salvation Army Employee Manual.
7. Fulfill any other tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis requested by the Commanding Officer.
8. Be willing and available to work on special events as indicated.
9. Submit monthly inventory.
10. In Food Services, follow guidelines for that area and fulfill tasks as asked, accepting any duties assigned.
11. Maintain a clean and safe environment for program participants and staff.
12. Participate in conferences and regular staff meetings as required.
13. Participate in workshops as required for the job.
14. Duties include floor maintenance, garbage removal, cleaning of bathrooms, windows, offices, snow removal, and multiple other janitorial duties.
15. Place orders to the food bank and maintain stats.
16. Conduct thorough cleaning of interior, including windows, seats, floor, etc. once a week.
17. Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures, floors, and partitions daily.
18. Sweep and mop all hard floor surfaces daily and buff when necessary.
19. The Salvation Army has the right to modify, delete, or add to this job description.

Qualifications

1. Must be able to do heavy lifting.
2. Must have basic knowledge of tools and maintenance routines.
3. Responsible, respectful, positive role model, and must be able to follow instructions.
4. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
5. Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility management or janitorial work.
6. Ability to maintain a clean environment in the facility.
7. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
8. Must have a valid driver's license.
9. Must have computer knowledge.
