Bailey Collaborative Solutions is seeking Software Systems Engineers to support the Orion Program , NASA's next-generation spacecraft designed for deep space exploration. This role requires a strong systems-level mindset and expertise in software integration to ensure mission-critical software solutions function seamlessly within the Orion architecture.
As a Software Systems Engineer , you will play a pivotal role in developing engineering tools, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring Orion's software systems operate with precision for upcoming Artemis missions . The Orion spacecraft is the cornerstone of NASA's Artemis program, which aims to take astronauts beyond Earth's orbit to the Moon and Mars. In this position, you will bridge the gap between software engineering and systems engineering , directly contributing to one of the most ambitious space programs of our time.
Location & Work Options: Preferred work location is in Houston, TX ; however, hybrid or remote work arrangements may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply systems-thinking principles to analyze and integrate software solutions for Orion's mission-critical systems.
- Develop and maintain engineering tools to enhance software workflows, automation, and overall system efficiency.
- Support the development and optimization of data pipelines for mission data processing.
- Collaborate with software, avionics, and mission teams to ensure system-wide software compatibility and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level software issues , ensuring compliance with NASA standards and program requirements .
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required due to facility security regulations.
- 2+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Proficiency in C++ and/or Python programming.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Ability to analyze and integrate complex software systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing engineering tools to support software automation and workflows.
- Background in data pipeline development, including data processing and integration.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
