What does the day to day look like?
Review and manage requests assigned to you within the Remedy ticketing system. Communicate with business partners to facilitate their requests, ensuring that they meet the standards and procedures defined by compliance. Certify and deploy Azure DevOps builds/releases to production for each business partner. Collaborate with the team to improve processes and develop automated solutions to provide a seamless Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process to production.
Sr Release Manager Role Overview
- As a Sr Release Manager , you’ll play a crucial role in bringing products and experiences to market. Your responsibilities include:
- Continuous Integration and Deployment : Manage the end-to-end release process across build, test, and production environments using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
- Collaboration : Partner with business units to align planning and execution across functions.
- Dependency Coordination : Work closely with Portfolio, Product, Technology, and Strategy teams to manage cross-functional deployments.
- Process Improvement : Provide feedback to enhance processes and deliver high-quality products efficiently.
This role requires a proactive approach to managing releases and fostering collaboration across multiple teams. Need to be technical – Azure and GitHub desired, technical initiative, aptitude and soft skills. Technical troubleshooting with Azure deliveries.
Senior Release Manager Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders on direction, strategy, planning, prioritization, and ongoing drive of the change and release framework.
- Drive effective release governance with a continuous delivery mindset across multiple teams.
- Manage risks and resolve issues affecting release scope, schedule, and quality.
- Validate change activities from planning through testing to production deployments.
- Communicate effectively at various organizational levels.
- Define release cadence and publish key metrics for continuous improvement.
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders for release scheduling decisions.
Senior Release Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field; 4+ additional years of professional experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proven leadership qualities and strong relationship-building skills.
- Effective communication skills, especially during stressful situations.
- Deep understanding and practical application of standard release processes, agile methodologies, and technical capabilities (including agile-lean, continuous delivery, SAFE, ITIL).
- Release Management tool experience.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, proficiency in scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell), and ability to review logs for deployment decisions.
- Comfortable working with a broad technology stack, including Windows, Linux, IIS, Azure DevOps, GitHub, PowerShell, Oracle.
- Functional expertise in driving change and delivering high-quality results.
- Experience in complex, geographically dispersed organizations.
Compensation: The compensation range for this position is $50 to $65 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
