As the Configuration Management Specialist (Navy Acquisition) based in Arlington, VA, you will join an integrated government-industry team as the lead support for Configuration Management for critical Navy systems. Use your expertise and collaborative skills to positively impact our national defense and make a difference in the world’s greatest Navy.
Serco provides technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of Command and Control and Navigation systems. This senior-level position has aspects of Configuration Management (CM), Risk Management, Integrated Logistics Support, defense acquisition management, and other related skills.
In this role you will:
- Provide principal support for CM and Risk Management for the government CM and RM leads.
- Prepare for, arrange, coordinate, and execute Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and Working Group (CMWG) meetings.
- Prepare CCB documents for review, staffing, and approval.
- Compile, review, and update CM documentation for accuracy and completeness; track through the routing and approval process.
- Prepare, disseminate, and track to completion CM-related tasking and actions.
- Using the NDE Website, prepare the monthly SCD Report indicating where the SCDs are in the voting process.
- Review and provide comments on Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) for Navigation systems.
- Prepare and maintain the program office Risk Register.
- Update program risks, collect risk status updates from risk owners, and track risk mitigation plans and risk walk-down plans.
- Help facilitate Risk Review Boards and Risk Advisory Boards, prepare minutes, and track action items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An Active or Current DoD Interim Secret Clearance.
- US Citizenship.
- A Bachelor's degree
- An Associates Degree and 2 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree or a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of related/similar experience.
- Familiarity with defense acquisition in an acquisition program management office setting.
- Advanced internal team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate independently with little direct supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Additional desired experience and skills:
- An Active or Current DoD Secret Clearance.
- CM expertise in surface ships and ship systems.
- Government program office experience.
- Understanding of CM tools and databases.
- Risk Management experience.
- Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as MS Teams and SharePoint.
