Oncology Patient Solutions & Alliances (OPSA): Advocacy & Professional Relations Enablement Director
ROLE SUMMARY:
The Director of Advocacy & Professional Relations Enablement will work across a broad, multi-disciplinary group of internal and external stakeholders to develop, evolve, and lead projects and programs to advance the Advocacy & Professional Relations Team efficiency, impact, and results. They will represent A&PR and serve as a key member to contribute to a process of continuous improvement for success across the oncology patient solutions team. The Director of Advocacy & Professional Relations Enablement role combines organizational, financial, project management, strategic and tactical planning excellence and understanding of all Advocacy & Professional Relations and Patient Solutions Group priorities and operations with the goal of seamless execution of operating, strategic, and tactical plans across for Advocacy & Professional Relations in alignment with the Oncology Patient Solutions & Alliances Team and in support of our Oncology portfolio.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with Cross-functional Oncology Patient Solutions & Alliances (OPSA) Enablement Leads, the Advocacy & Professional Relations Team, Marketing/Commercial Brand Team Leads, Portfolio Marketing, Commercial and Medical Congress Strategy Teams, Key Account Director Team and Enablement leads, including SEMs, Medical, Corporate Affairs, R&D, Legal, and Compliance to identify key themes and lead initiatives/projects needed to advance productivity, efficiency, and results.
- Identify and prioritize the right continuous improvement projects, processes, and resources, working with key stakeholders to advance productivity and support the strategy and execution of operating plans while accurately projecting and reconciling yearly operating and project budgets.
- Establishes Ways of Working within A&PR and OPSA and across matrix with connections to platform support from digital, Portfolio and brand marketing, medical, R&D, Corporate Affairs, including US Business Policy and Public Affairs, the Global Patient Advocacy Office, and Internal and external communications. Key role in supporting integration and ensuring operational model is streamlined and executed for the advocacy and professional relations team.
- Develop partnerships and collaborate with key colleagues in other functional areas and business units to ensure ongoing alignment, consistency, and efficiency across Advocacy and Professional Relations.
- Partners cross-functionally to enable internal functions & networks, while also partnering externally, as needed, to deliver insights and execute initiative(s) to evolve the Advocacy & Professional Relations approach, initiatives, congress and meeting strategy, impact, and results.
- Cross Matrix leadership of existing and evolving A&PR initiatives, workflow, SOP and update in remit. Lead training, development, and creation and development of capabilities for National Director A&PR and Operations. Serve as point of contact for initial as well as advanced training maintenance of SOPs and aligned legal processes related to patient advocacy and engagement (ie. CP208).
- Provide solutions and enablement for within the Advocacy & Professional Relations Team e.g., analytics, training, meeting planning (internal and external), ways of working, external meeting and congress coordination with cross functional partners, as well as spearhead yearly operations, strategic, and tactical planning for A&PR in coordination with A&PR TL and OPSA Enablement.
- Own, understand, inventory, and leverage key 3rd party and patient advocacy insights and research to help shape and support operating plan, gauge impact of evolving market and patient advocacy trends relative to A&PR and OPSA.
- Partner with Team Lead, US Advocacy & Professional Relations, to refine and progress A&PR vision, mission, ways of working, and strategy.
- Support implementation and monitoring of advocacy and professional relations strategy and tactics in coordination within the OPSA functional teams of Access, Marketing and Health Equity.
- Coordinate with OSPA Enablement and A&PR TL to execute on systematic process that links advocacy & professional relations initiatives and impact to oncology key imperatives and organizational outcomes.
- In alignment with A&PR Team Lead, function as a key enabler in building a strong culture and driving the Advocacy & Professional Relations team agenda.
- Partner with the Oncology A&PR Team to ensure teams remain focused on the most important patient-impacting deliverables and initiatives (ie. POPCE, Change the Odds) and remain in sync with other key functional partners and the rest of the organization.
- Manage A&PR priorities, agendas, and deliverables for key meetings such as management team meetings, town halls, business reviews etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Serve as a dotted line Leader for other OPSA Operations/Enablement roles (Access, OPSA Enablement) to ensure alignment to overall A&PR and OPSA strategy for efficient impact.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree required.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales with extensive external healthcare market and advanced customer / health system knowledge.
- Previous Patient Solutions, Operational Excellence, Strategic and Tactical Planning Execution, Medical, Key Account Management and/or Leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of high performance OR specialized technical skills obtained from cross-functional leadership roles.
- Experience leading others in a matrix organization with the ability to manage without direct authority.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders internally and externally with proven executive communication skills and leadership qualities.
- Forward looking and results oriented with effective planning, prioritization, and organizational project skills.
- Strong and proven project management skills demonstrating the ability to deliver multiple time horizon focused projects simultaneously in the short-term and long-term.
- Track record of leading and managing complex programs to deliver improved outcomes.
- Strong strategic skills including effectiveness in identifying and addressing major strategic challenges (e.g., shifting patient trend and patient centric focus areas) and the ability to balance short-term needs with long-term vision.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required, as well as excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills to address Leadership and external audiences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Master's degree.
- Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience.
- Operational and / or advocacy external relationship management experience.
- Previous Leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of high performance.
- Headquarters knowledge and experience, with proven experience working across cross-functional HQ departments, teams, and business units.
- Advocacy and with understanding of advocacy operations experience.
- Oncology market experience.
- Matrixed leadership of cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

- The annual base salary for this position ranges from $169,700.00 to $282,900.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
