Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Director to lead our organization's safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in occupational health and safety, with the ability to develop training programs and implement effective safety policies. This role is crucial in fostering a culture of safety within the workplace, minimizing risks, and promoting the well-being of all employees.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop, implement, and oversee safety policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  2. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with federal, state and local safety regulations.
  3. Lead companywide safety meetings, workshops, awareness campaigns and development programs for employees on first aid, CPR, and general workplace safety practices.
  4. Collaborate with management to conduct root cause analysis of incidents and develop strategies for prevention.
  5. Facilitate communication between departments regarding safety issues and promote a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health practices.
  6. Prepare reports on safety performance metrics for management review.

Experience

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
  2. 8+ years in construction safety leadership roles.
  3. Proven experience in a safety management role, preferably as a Safety Director or similar position.
  4. Certified Safety Professional (CPS) or equivalent certification.
  5. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  6. Experience in training development related to occupational health and safety practices.
  7. Familiarity with first aid, CPR certification, and other emergency response protocols.
  8. Excellent analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
  9. Strong communication skills to effectively convey safety information across all levels of the organization.
