Base pay range: $175,000.00/yr - $500,000.00/yr
About Us: A well-funded L2 crypto infrastructure startup is looking for a highly skilled Performance Optimization Engineer to join their growing team! In this role, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing core systems and infrastructure using the Rust programming language. This role offers the chance to tackle complex optimization challenges in distributed and hardware-centric systems, especially within cryptographic environments.
Responsibilities
- Drive advancements in compiler, runtime, and language implementation strategies.
- Optimize complex systems, with a focus on distributed architectures.
- Develop and enhance hardware-focused performance solutions, particularly for FPGA and GPU-based environments.
- Focus on cryptographic code optimizations to elevate efficiency and security.
- Implement and refine benchmarking methodologies to ensure peak performance.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
- Expertise in compilers, runtimes, and language implementation concepts.
- Experience working at a crypto native startup, preferably blockchain infrastructure.
- Proficiency in optimizing distributed systems and hardware-based performance tasks.
- Strong knowledge of FPGA and GPU optimization techniques for cryptographic applications.
- Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies.
- Working knowledge of Rust and/or C++; experience with LLVM is a plus.
- An MS or PhD is preferred but not required.
