Position Summary:

High paced closed area team looking for an Operations Manager with excellent time management skills and a proven track record of setting and meeting goals in the manufacturing defense industry. We are looking for a candidate with considerable managerial experience who can recruit new talent, allocate both human and material resources efficiently, communicate effectively, and coordinate with other disciplines on time-sensitive projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of dedicated systems administrators to provide a high level of customer support.
  2. Service Oriented: Address user service requests in a timely manner to design, implement, provision, and maintain services. Able to respond off-hours to occasional service disruptions.
  3. Solid understanding of Storage Operations Maintenance: Troubleshoot and service storage solutions in the data centers with excellence, maximizing uptime, capacity management, and effectiveness.
  4. Process Focus: Manage work according to repeatable processes to maximize standardization and minimize baseline drift.
  5. Independent: Self-motivated and able to operate within operational expectations with independence.
  6. Documentation Champion: Document configuration for new and existing systems as well as processes used to maintain systems.
  7. Security Oriented: Maintain data confidentiality and integrity through a variety of NACL, RBAC, LDAP, and other permission models. Also, work with security to define and apply hardening requirements for storage solutions.
  8. Forward Planning: Review utilization trends and customer usage projections to ensure sufficient capacity and capabilities are in place to meet projected needs.
  9. Data Center Maintenance: Coordinate with other on-site administrators to maintain the datacenter storage infrastructure.
  10. Flexibility: Ability to flex tasking to support other disciplines in their tasks as necessary.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  1. Security Certifications: Security CE or equivalent, or ability to get Security within 90 days of hire.
  2. Clearance: Secret Clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance with SCI.
  3. Workforce Experience: 4 years of experience in storage system management.
  4. Ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training to staff.
  5. Ability to build relationships and to work effectively with people of diverse social, economic, and racial/ethnic backgrounds.
  6. Proactively prioritize initiatives and have keen ability to multi-task.
  7. Communicate clearly, proactively, and concisely (both written and verbal) with all key stakeholders, customers, and staff.
  8. Ability to manage staff effectively by setting expectations, driving performance, developing potential, and rewarding talent.
  9. Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization, and decision making.
  10. Focus on quality.
  11. Demonstrated Performance: Experience with various scalable storage solutions such as Ceph, Commvault, NetApp, Dell Unity, or HPE Nimble.
  12. Data Center Management: Experience maintaining storage services in a data center, including storage configuration and installation, failure maintenance, and operations.
  13. Virtualization: Working knowledge with at least one on-premises virtualization environment such as VMware, Azure, or OpenStack with experience integrating storage.
  14. Permission Integration: Ability to integrate MS Active Directory and Linux permissions into managed storage device solutions.
  15. Storage Network Needs: Familiar with networking requirements for distributed storage solutions.
  16. Detail Oriented: Passionate about addressing details to ensure quality implementations.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  1. Top Secret clearance with SCI.
  2. Experience in automating administrative tasks using PowerShell or other scripting languages.
  3. Familiarity with SQL commands.
  4. Working knowledge of Virtual Machine (VM) technologies (ESXi, VCenter, VSphere, VMware).
  5. Experience in Linux system administration is a plus.
  6. Ability to rapidly adapt to new technologies.

Pay Information:

Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603.

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
