Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking an Accessibility Engineer to work on a hybrid basis at one of the following locations: Westlake, TX; Smithfield, RI; Covington, KY; or Merrimack, NH . The Accessibility Engineer will have strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1+ standards and hands-on experience in front-end development and accessibility testing to help create inclusive digital experiences.

Responsibilities of the Accessibility Engineer include:

  • Collaborate with product owners to address accessibility issues and suggestions for remediation.
  • Perform product testing to identify and improve accessibility issues for web, desktop, and mobile devices.
  • Work through backlogs and sprints, fixing and retesting issues.
  • Provide deep knowledge of accessibility regulations and how to apply them in software products.
  • Articulate technical issues, document, and convey test results within a large strategic organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver software solutions.

Qualifications for the Accessibility Engineer include:

  • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.1+ standards.
  • Experience building and testing accessible web and mobile experiences.
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue).
  • Skills in TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Karma/Jasmine, Jest, Mocha, Playwright).
  • Understanding of web components and component architecture.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must work onsite 5 days every other week.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Compensation for the Accessibility Engineer includes:

  • $55-60/hr (12 months)
  • Comprehensive benefit package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and Sick Leave if required by law.
