Make a difference as a Network Systems Engineer

As a Network Systems Engineer at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, you play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network, voice, and data infrastructure. Your focus on ensuring the reliability and performance of our phone systems, including the VoIP PBX and Contact Center Telephony, is critical for seamless communication between employees and members. Daily responsibilities encompass configuring and troubleshooting network hardware, managing VoIP phone systems, and optimizing performance to guarantee security and stability.

You will take ownership of enhancing our phone systems, promptly resolving telephony issues, and implementing necessary upgrades while ensuring high availability for all communications. Additionally, this role requires a proactive approach to identify and mitigate emerging security vulnerabilities, maintaining compliance with security policies. With the need for independent project management and problem-solving skills, you'll contribute innovative solutions to improve efficiency and user experience while participating in an on-call rotation that ensures uninterrupted service.

Proficiency in configuring and maintaining LAN/WAN hardware is essential, including expertise with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Experience with the Mitel VoIP PBX and Contact Center Telephony System is vital for ensuring seamless communication solutions.

You'll need strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities to address connectivity issues and optimize system performance. Familiarity with disaster recovery planning, security compliance, and the implementation of industry best practices is crucial for maintaining our network's integrity. Effective project management skills are necessary as you take ownership of special projects and coordinate with third-party vendors.

Additionally, the ability to provide training and support to staff, coupled with excellent communication skills, will ensure a collaborative environment that aligns with SkyOne's core values of performance, accountability, innovation, and respect.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of five years of experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting LAN/WAN network systems.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with personal computers, including hardware and software such as Windows Server.
  • Hands-on experience with Mitel telephone and data communication systems.
  • Preferred experience with Juniper and Palo Alto network technologies.
  • Experience with Symitar or other financial systems is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, think critically, and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and cross-functionally with other departments in a collaborative environment.
  • Capable of managing tasks and projects with minimal supervision while prioritizing effectively.
  • high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management, including planning, execution, and coordination.
  • In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure, including internet, intranet, and extranet systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and best practices.
