Job Description

ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Senior VDI Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA .

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Assist with the development, deployment, and O&M of a dynamic desktop solution that is hardware-agnostic, rapidly deployable, and integrates with the customer’s current infrastructure across multiple operational and security environments, providing a common secure user experience.
  2. Implement, configure, and provide day-to-day management of new Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.
  3. Design, build, and manage the connections and interactions between different infrastructure solutions including virtual desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid, and maintain the solution long term.
  4. Engineer, design, test, implement, maintain, secure, and provide full life-cycle management of complex desktop solutions deployed in a large Enterprise environment.
  5. Engineer, implement, mitigate, monitor, and tune desktop environment and management software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new VDI solutions. Maintain ATO for all existing systems, and delta ATOs for new capabilities.
  6. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of Tier 2-3 support as needed (troubleshooting, problem resolution support, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) preparing and maintaining documentation for desktop solutions, processes, and procedures related to engineering projects.
  7. Provide solutions for baseline VDI builds to ensure upgrades are incorporated before operating system end-of-life.
  8. Ensure the application of patches, updates, and configuration changes to maintain compliance and security standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. 8+ years of recent experience in virtualization implementation and configuration while managing and supporting large scale projects and automation; must have experience with cloud hosted VDI.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)).
  3. Experience with IT desktop user-facing services within National Reconnaissance Office (NRO).
  4. Expert in Azure VDI technologies and trends.
  5. Documented technical acumen and hands-on experience with the development and deployment of virtualized desktop deployments and support.
  6. VOIP knowledge and understanding, strong grasp of networking concepts, firewall configurations, and VPN technologies.
  7. Proficiency working on and in Linux and Windows environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Advanced degrees and certifications are desired (e.g., MS, Security+, CISSP, CCIE, ITILv4).
  2. Knowledge of other VDI technologies and trends (Hyper-V VDI, VMWare VDI, etc.).
  3. Experience with desktop endpoint security solutions.
  4. Experience with Visio network visualization for LAN, WAN data centers and data flow diagrams.
  5. Knowledge of Linux, Red Hat or Ubuntu.

Clearance Requirements:

Must have an active/current TS/SCI clearance w/ polygraph.
