Job Title: Chief Accounting Officer

Company Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CFO/CAO or Controller to join our dynamic team. This is a hands-on role for an experienced professional with a strong background in real estate and public company financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience with 10-K and 10-Q filings, as well as a proven track record in overseeing financial management within small to mid-sized companies. This is a key leadership position, involved in all aspects of the financial close process and strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review 10-K and 10-Q filings, including all financial statements and disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements and all applicable accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic financial planning and decisions.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis.
  • Handle financial statements, reconciliations, and financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage cash flow, capital structure, and financial performance.
  • Provide financial insights to support business growth and strategy.
  • Work closely with external auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all accounting, regulatory standards, and investor relations needs.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong experience with 10-K and 10-Q filings is required.
  • Real estate experience is required.
  • Background in finance and accounting for public companies is a must.
  • Hands-on experience with financial processes and management.
  • Strong understanding of financial close processes and accounting standards.
  • Experience with public-private and private companies is acceptable.
  • CPA certification is desirable but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
