Our client is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Architect to join our innovative cloud services team. This position is 100% remote and will focus on cloud security architecture and design across a multi-account multi-environment enterprise cloud offering. The cloud architect will work as part of an enterprise cloud services team and will utilize knowledge of cloud security, cloud technologies, and current cloud trends to develop enterprise solutions.

Location: Fully Remote

Pay Rate: $120-$125/ hr

The cloud architect’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Design and implement security solutions for cloud infrastructures across various platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
• Identify and develop security policies, procedures, and guidelines for cloud environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams to integrate security best practices.
• Identify and address security risks, vulnerabilities, and threats in the cloud environment.
• Perform cloud risk assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Create and maintain documentation for security architecture, incident response plans, and compliance audits.
• Design cloud architecture to meet Federal Government security mandates and directives (e.g. OMB, CISA, HIPAA).
• Design automated cloud security controls and real-time monitoring solutions to detect and respond to threats and vulnerabilities.
• Assist in leading the team/organization with establishing or evolving cloud best practices.
• Effectively communicate complicated cloud reports to leadership and IT partners.
• Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in cloud technologies and platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree with 12 years’ relevant experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure with an emphasis on AWS.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud security, IT security, or related fields preferred.
• Experience with cloud security frameworks, such as CIS, NIST, and industry best practices.
• Experience with security best practices for cloud security services (e.g. AWS Config, AWS Security Hub, Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Inspector, AWS WAF, AWS Shield, Azure Defender for Cloud).
• Candidate must hold or be able to obtain Public Trust.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant cloud security certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g. Cloud formation, Terraform) is preferred.
• Experience digesting security directives and mandates and translating to sound enterprise cloud architecture decisions.
• Experience designing architectures for implementing security mandates and directives.
