Base pay range
$165,000.00/yr - $195,000.00/yr
Position Overview: The Payroll Director will oversee all payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for a large and diverse workforce. This role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and in-depth knowledge of payroll systems and compliance. The Payroll Director will work closely with HR, Finance, and department leaders to maintain compliance and enhance payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management: Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payments for approximately 3,000 employees across multiple locations.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax filings, wage garnishments, and benefit deductions.
- System Oversight: Manage and optimize payroll systems, integrating them with HRIS and financial systems for efficiency and accuracy.
- Auditing and Reporting: Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and compliance. Generate detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the payroll team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve payroll processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Collaboration: Partner with HR and Finance teams to align payroll activities with broader organizational goals and strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in payroll management, including multi-state payroll for large organizations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with major payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar).
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) designation preferred.
