Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled IT Systems Engineer to join our team, coordinating the implementation of local ICT infrastructure technologies and solutions. This role involves providing daily production support, troubleshooting IT infrastructure issues, and performing effective system maintenance and backups. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise and proven experience in managing local networks (Cisco switches and firewalls), virtualization platforms (VMware), as well as Windows and Linux servers. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, and WSUS services is essential. Experience in a card personalization environment and knowledge of Lansweeper and Splunk are considered advantageous. This role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and the ability to maintain a stable and secure IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily production support, ensuring quick resolution of IT-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair hardware and software problems on production machines and servers.
- Perform routine system backups, updates, and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and security.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers and employee laptops, optimizing performance and system uptime.
- Monitor system performance, logs, and security alerts, utilizing Splunk (if applicable).
- Manage IT asset inventory and tracking through Lansweeper.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to address system-related challenges.
- Support and maintain IT infrastructure in a card personalization environment.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies, best practices, and industry regulations.
- Provide technical assistance to end-users and document troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
- Over 3 years of hands-on experience in IT support, system engineering, or a related technical field, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of IT infrastructure and support operations.
- Proficient in administering and troubleshooting multiple operating systems, including Windows and Linux servers and workstations, with a thorough knowledge of system configurations and user management.
- Strong foundation in system troubleshooting, backup and recovery, and maintenance practices, ensuring minimal downtime and peak system performance.
- Expertise in conducting administrator-level operations for both Windows and Linux environments, including systems configurations, users management, file manipulation, secure file transfers (SFTP/PSCP), SSH connections, and network drive mappings.
- Skilled in developing and refining batch files, Bash scripts, and XSL transformations, as well as utilizing scripting solutions to automate processes.
- Solid understanding of networking principles, IT security best practices, and system monitoring, with experience in identifying and addressing potential threats and inefficiencies.
- Experience in a card personalization environment is beneficial, providing insight into secure, high-volume, and mission-critical systems.
- Familiarity with Lansweeper for asset management and Splunk for log analysis is advantageous for proactive system monitoring and issue resolution.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proven ability to work independently while delivering timely solutions to complex technical issues.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Linux+, MCSA, or equivalent are highly preferred, reflecting technical expertise and a commitment to professional development.
