Job Description

Data Center Operations Site Manager, ADC InfraOps DCO

Job ID: 2925952 | Amazon Data Services, Inc.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Do you like helping U.S. government agencies implement innovative cloud computing solutions and solve technical problems? Are you committed to fundamentally transforming the way national security and defense mission agencies partner with industry to meet mission requirements? Do you have experience managing large, complex programs?

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Operations (DCO) Site Manager to join the Global Infrastructure Operations organization and serve as a technical resource and leader within data centers. We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and we are looking for a manager with experience in people leadership, a strong technical understanding of data center operations and infrastructure, and the drive and vision to take AWS Data Center Operations into the future.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

  3. Manage team and individual performance; delivering performance reviews, and addressing staffing needs.
  4. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  5. Mentor, train and develop career progression for direct reports and members of the organization.
  6. Obsess over team learning and development, both from a technical/functional and soft skills (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability) development perspective.
  7. Coordinate support of change management resources in partnership with electrical and mechanical operations teams.
  8. Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the region and with peers globally.
