Staff Accountant CFS has partnered with a local nonprofit organization to identify their new Staff Accountant. The organization has gone through some positive changes, and they are looking for someone that thrives in a positive and friendly environment. The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the financial records, general ledger postings, month-end reconciliations, and financial analysis. This person will manage various projects as requested by the Controller that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department. Responsibilities: Prepares journal entries and posts to the general ledger. Reconciles balance sheet accounts monthly. Reconciles all bank accounts monthly. Reconciles program revenue monthly. Assists in account variance analysis, and reports findings to Controller & CFO. Assists in the processing of bi-weekly payroll. Assists employees with payroll related questions. Performs quality checks of payroll input, reconciles bi-weekly payroll, and processes personnel changes within payroll system. Assists in 401(k) plan record keeping. Assists in preparation of annual financial audit and 401(k) audit. Supports Controller & CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements. Performs other tasks as requested. Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related field. 2+ years of experience in accounting. Non-profit experience is highly preferred. Excel experience is a must.
