Fund Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Temporary Consultant to oversee the accounting and operations for a short-term vacation rental business. The successful candidate will transition all responsibilities from the current accounting manager and take on the day-to-day management of support staff based in India.

Key Responsibilities

Transition Management:

Seamlessly transition responsibilities from the current accounting manager to ensure continuity in operations Manage and coordinate day-to-day activities of the support staff in India

Plan Development:

Create a comprehensive plan for transitioning responsibilities to a third-party consulting firm Execute the transition plan effectively within the assignment timeline

Financial Reporting:

Develop detailed financial statements and reporting packages Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards

Tax Coordination:

Coordinate state and local tax payments, ensuring timely and accurate submissions

Process Documentation:

Document current processes and internal controls to facilitate the transition Identify areas for improvement and optimization in existing workflows

Collaboration with Management:

Work closely with management to identify tasks and responsibilities to transition to the third-party consulting/business management firm Provide insights and recommendations based on industry best practices

Candidate Requirements

Significant experience in accounting and operations, preferably within the short-term vacation rental or hospitality industry Proven track record of successfully managing transitions and consulting assignments Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial reporting and tax compliance Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage remote teams effectively Ability to work independently and "get into the weeds" to ensure project completion Willingness to complete the project within a strict timeline of under 6 months
